v2.0.5 Conquer the World

Version 2.0.5 is the update that turned a German football manager into an international one. Six countries, more divisions and nine languages in one go.

What was added

Alongside Germany there are now further countries with their own divisions, their own cup and their own clubs. You can play in one country and watch the others simulate in the background, transfers between leagues included.

Nine languages came with it. That sounds like a text problem, but it is mostly a layout problem: a button that fits in German bursts in Turkish, and a player name with accents breaks a table built for ASCII.

What made it hard

A game that knows only one country carries silent assumptions everywhere: one currency, one number of divisions, one cup format. Those assumptions do not sit in one place, they are spread across the whole project. So the update was less an extension than a rebuild.
