v2.1.5 in progress: player form has been rebuilt

The next Anpfiff1 update is in the works. Nothing has shipped yet and there is no release date. Here is what is finished so far. This is the state of development, not an announcement.

Player form, rebuilt

A player described in a forum that his squad kept getting weaker across the season, no matter what he did in training. The report was precise enough that the cause could be traced. The form system has been rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Training now takes effect every week, not just in some
  • Penalties after matches are gentler
  • The squad comes out of the winter break with its ranking intact; before, everyone ended up level
  • The trend arrow in the line-up shows the change since the matchday, not only the last small step

Measured across a full season on the highest difficulty with full rotation, squad form rises from 5.0 to 8.1.

The fan shop counted the whole season

The second point came from the same forum report. Buying to forecast during the season ordered stock for 17 home matches even when only five were left. Half the stock expires at the end of the season. The warning about oversized stock measured against the same wrong number and stayed quiet exactly when it was needed.

Now all three buttons and both warnings count the remaining demand: remaining league home matches plus outstanding cup home matches. The season forecast stays, because it is the basis for the comparison with the agency.

What else is coming

  • Kits and crests in each club's colours, visible in the table, the scorer list, the scoreboard and the cup draw
  • Terrace chants as interjections in the match report, plus a separate line depending on who scored
  • Sponsor marks in front of every sponsor name, derived from the name
  • Title holders qualify for their competition again, which was missing entirely
  • Higher prize money for the final and the title, while the starting fee stays
  • Card statistics now cover other leagues too, where the tables used to be empty
Note: this list can still change before release. Only what ends up in the changelog is final.

Where to go next

The full notes arrive with the update in the changelog. Previous versions are already there, and the longer stories behind them are in the Dev Log.
