QR Scanner Pur
1.1.0: codes from images, and an icon you can actually see
QR Scanner Pure had been on version 1.0.1 since April. Version 1.1.0 brings four new features and fixes a bug that affected an entire icon.
The icon was nearly invisible
Every path in the app icon drew #1B5E20 onto a #1B5E20 background. All that stayed visible were the three white inner rings of the finder patterns — three small squares on a green field. The icon has been redrawn, with a white QR mark and an amber data field, plus a monochrome layer for themed icons on Android 13 and up.
Codes from images
Until now every scan needed the camera. The app now reads codes from screenshots and saved photos as well, either through the image picker or straight from another app's share sheet.
Clean links
Identifiers such as utm_source, fbclid and gclid are stripped from scanned links before they open. A QR code on a poster does not need to count who stood in front of it.
What else came with it
- 2FA codes and the EPC payment code on invoices are recognised as such
- Pinch to zoom and tap to focus
- The Pro screen pulls price and discount straight from Google Play instead of hard-coding them
- Fixed: sound on scan did nothing
