Vault Pure
In progress
Vault Pure is in internal testing on Google Play
Vault Pure is a photo vault for Android: photos, videos and files are stored encrypted on the device. No account, no cloud, no synchronisation. What goes in does not leave the phone.
Where the app stands
Internal testing on Google Play started on 7 August and is now in its fifth build. Internal means it is not public yet, and installable only by a small circle. That is exactly what this stage is for.
Why it takes time
In an app that promises encryption, a bug is not merely annoying, it has consequences. The test run checks three things in particular:
- Is the data still readable after every update?
- Does biometric unlock fail cleanly on devices that cannot do it?
- Does anything accidentally end up in the Android backup?
What is still open
There is no release date. It comes when those three points stay stable across several builds.
Where to go next
The other apps in the range follow the same rule: no ads, no tracking, one time purchase.
