Recorder Pur: an ad-free voice recorder is in the works

5 October 2026: There is a new app on the workbench: Recorder Pur, a voice recorder for Android. It records voice and nothing else. No ads, no tracking, no account, no internet permission.

What the app can do

Record in m4a, ogg or mp3, in the background too
Set markers and jump to them
Trim without re-encoding, the original stays untouched
Playback speed and A-B repeat
Library with sorting, filters, favorites and date groups, trash for 30 days
Widget and quick settings tile, light and dark theme

The record button is a wax seal in wax red on paper, with gold as the accent.

Free and Pro

The core stays free: recording, playback, trash, formats and colors. Pro is a one-time purchase and adds comfort on top, such as setting markers, trimming and the A-B repeat.

Where the app stands

Version 1.0.0 is in progress and not in the Play Store yet. Internal testing comes next, and after that the app is meant to appear on Google Play. There is no date yet.

Where the code comes from

Recorder Pur is based on Voice Recorder by FossifyOrg and, like it, is released under the GPL-3.0. The source code becomes public with the release, and we will add the address then.
